The idea behind MrGlyns 2 string pickup is for it to be mounted to a conventional electric guitar to ‘hear’ the E and A strings only. That signal is then sent out separately and put through a pedal to lower it an octave; the octave down sound can be amplified separately or combined with the signal from the 6 string pickups.
It’s one of those ideas that the more you think about it the more uses you find for it.
